Your forecast beside your family. Know what the radar shows—and what it cannot promise.

These instructions describe the current TestFlight experience. Some controls may differ in the public App Store version.

Open weather without changing your map

Start from Family or Today

Tap Weather on the family map, or the weather card in Today.

Choose a location

Use the location selector at the top. Family and destination views depend on BRYKK Life access and available shared locations.

Explore radar

Choose Explore weather radar to return to the map with precipitation imagery. Use Off on the map to hide the overlay. Opening the forecast alone should not turn radar on.

Replay, visibility and nearby checks

Open the radar controls beside the NOAA/NWS timestamp. Play or pause recent scans, step through frames, move the timeline, adjust visibility, or return to Latest. The replay shows past observations, not predicted future storm movement.

The nearby summary checks a 50-mile radius around the selected location in supported U.S. coverage. Radar scan is the observation time; Checked is when BRYKK checked it. A newly checked old scan is still old data.

If the summary says unavailable, loading or out of date, it is not reporting clear weather. Try again with a connection and check official alerts separately.

Precipitation—not just rain

Radar echoes can include rain, snow and other precipitation. This layer does not reliably label precipitation type or guarantee that ice will be detected. Use the forecast and official winter-weather alerts for that context.

No precipitation detected does not mean no hazards. Radar can miss light precipitation or have coverage gaps. Wind, heat, ice and other dangers are not ruled out by an empty radar map. Follow official local guidance.

What stays free?

Local weather, radar and supported official alerts remain free and ad-free. BRYKK Life adds longer forecasts, family and destination weather, and planning context. The app shows the applicable upgrade before a paid feature.

Something looks wrong?

Send support your BRYKK build, device, approximate time and whether you were playing, dragging or zooming. Mention any flashing or missing map tiles. Hide private locations in screenshots. Email support@brykk.app.
